Petricor is a family olive farm located in the village of Lucinasco in Liguria, a steep and narrow strip of land along the Mediterranean Coast in Northwest Italy. Liguria is known throughout Italy as the epicenter of both the esteemed Taggiasca olive and the high-quality oil pressed from the fruit. Petricor is the life project of Giada Calzia, who took over the long-lasting tradition of cultivating Taggiasca olive trees on her family’s farm. This farm is first and foremost the Calzia home, where the family lives alongside the olive trees they protect and maintain through close contact with nature and consistent agricultural practices. The production of Petricor olive oil is carried out according to intentional processing techniques, from the cultivation of the olive trees up to the bottling of the oil. Dynamic practices coupled with cutting edge research characterizes the Petricor philosophy. In addition to extra virgin olive oil, Petricor produces both naturally fermented Taggiasca olives in brine, and crunchy Taggiasca olives, a product unique to this farm.
